Privacy Policy
NessGate is designed to know as little as possible.
What we store
The public registry contains, for each listing: the domain name, the JSON URL chosen by that domain's owner, and the verification date. This information is public by design — publishing it is the entire purpose of the service. We never copy or store the contents of the JSON file. During verification only, the file is fetched once to confirm it is valid JSON — and, when the JSON-field method is used, to check the temporary ownership code — then discarded.
What we don't collect
NessGate has no user accounts and asks for no names, email addresses, or personal information. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking scripts.
Technical data
Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare. Like virtually all web services, requests pass through standard server infrastructure that processes IP addresses to deliver responses, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits. We keep short-lived, IP-based rate-limit counters (automatically deleted within about an hour) and do not build profiles of visitors. Cloudflare processes traffic under its own privacy policy.
Verification requests
During verification only, our servers fetch the verification file, DNS record, or JSON URL that you asked us to check on your own domain. We do not crawl or re-fetch your site afterwards.
Removing your data
A domain owner can remove their listing at any time using the "Remove a listing" flow on the homepage — the same domain-ownership proof used to create it. Removal deletes the mapping from the public registry.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Questions: see Contact.
